Revitalization of Benice
Benice stands between two worlds. Their size corresponds to a cozy village with an almost family circle of inhabitants. However, by being located on the inner border of the cadastre of the capital city of Prague, Benice also tasted the pleasures of the suburb with the possibility of living in a nearby big city. This also carries the risks of the periphery, not only in terms of location, but also in terms of the quality of urbanism and architecture. Fortunately, the community life of the village lives with the zeal of several locals. Our task is to study the revitalization of the village square, and to study the forest park on the outskirts of the village. Our solution is mainly to create comfortable and valuable places for meeting residents, highlighting the village square as a representative space of the village, incorporating and modifying existing important elements and especially surface treatment, emphasizing the priority of pedestrians and deviating from concrete surfaces evoking the impression of the periphery. The modifications are designed to support freedom of movement in the village square.
